GUANGZHOU - Guangdong Development Bank and China United Network Communications Group Co announced the launch of a joint credit card over the weekend, extending the strategic cooperation initiated in May.
Holders of the new card are entitled to interest-free payments for a number of mobile phone models, including the iPhone, and other benefits.
With 3G and other technological support now available, value-added services are increasingly grabbing people's attention. China Unicom will deepen its cooperation with GDB to strengthen its core competitiveness, said its president Lu Yimin.
Quality value-added services have become a primary factor in the competitiveness of the credit card business in China, which is one of the fastest-growing personal financial products, said Dong Jianyue, chairman of GDB.
The two companies kicked off strategic cooperations in May, including working together on credit line, cash management, bond sales and e-banking.
