The 2010 China International New Generation Wireless Communications and China 4G Summit was held in the Chengdu High-tech Zone in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Friday.
It drew representatives from China Telecom, France Telecom, Deutsche Telecom, Korea Telecom, Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Freescale and other enterprises to discuss the development trends of the global communications industry.
Chengdu has been designated by the State Council as Southwest China's communications hub.
According to the Chengdu High-tech Zone, the city's communications industry had gathered more than 110 related companies employing more than 45,000 people by October 2010.
