Six cities in the Northern Anhui province, with the abundant historical relics and spectacular natural scenes, made a big punch promoting this year’s winter tourism industry.

Diverse preferential policies were launched to improve tourism spots. In Bozhou, for instance, officials recommended a ticket package available for 11 scenic spots.

"However, some culture spots are not attractive enough, therefore, highlights need to be created,” experts in the provincial tourism bureau said. "Moreover, to integrate the resources advantages and strengthen the cities’ cooperation is also crucial to the industrial development.”

More than 23 million people visited Bengbu, Huaibei, Bozhou, Suzhou, Huainan and Fuyang in 2009, marking a 26.6 percent increase year-on-year. Tourism revenue reached 12.8 billion yuan ($1.9 billion), an increase of nearly 20 percent over last year.
