2011: Fuzhou to hold first hot spring festival

Fuzhou, Fujian -- Fuzhou is set to hold the first Hot Spring Festival on January 15. A week-long Hot Spring Festival is co-hosted by Fuzhou Municipal Tourism Administration and Fuzhou Daily. The theme of the festival is "experience the charm of the hot spring, feel healthy life". After successfully bid the title -- "China's hot spring capital". Fuzhou tries to build a city image -- "ancient hot spring capital, blessed city".

"With the close grasp of Haixi Construction, Fuzhou's Tourism industry, in recent years, develops rapidly. Fuzhou will launch brand tourism with three cards in hands -- "Hot Spring, Min jiang River and Three Alleys and Seven Lanes" said Lin Hanjuan, Fuzhou municipal deputy secretary-general.

"In 2011, Fuzhou will carry on the strategy of constructing Fuzhou city into a natural and cultural tourist center of China. And in 2012, the number of national tourists will reach up to 30 million; the overseas tourists will be over 1 million which will contribute 40 billion yuan to the tourism industry." Lin added.

Up to now, Fuzhou has 10 hot spring vacation villages with a total investment of 1 billion yuan. Meanwhile, another 6 projects are under construction, the investment of it will be 2 billion yuan. Zheng Li, the Director of Fuzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau indicated that about 40 activities will be organized for 2011 Spring Festival which will provide citizens and tourists a brilliant holiday.
