Road show held to promote South Africa

SHANGHAI - South African Tourism (SAT) launched a road show in Shanghai on Monday, part of its nationwide campaign in China, to further promote South Africa after the World Cup.

"The purpose is to make the rainbow country to be one of the preferred tourist destinations for Chinese travelers," said Bradley Brouwer, regional manager of SAT Asia Pacific.

The road show themed with "Leave Ordinary Behind and Enjoy the Green South Africa" will be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu of Sichuan province and Guangzhou of Guangdong province to introduce SAT's latest promotional strategy and activities for 2011, Brouwer said.

He said 2010 was a fruitful year for South Africa with achievements and applause thanks to the World Cup. "The success of World Cup 2010 has not only proved that South Africa is capable of organizing grand international competition, but also impressed the world with the fabulous charming of this rainbow country," he said.
