Nobel laureate now honorary university professor

XI'AN - Xi'an Jiaotong University in this capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province conferred the certificate of the honorary professor to Oliver E. Williamson, the laureate of the Nobel Prize for economics, last Friday afternoon, during his visit to it.

It marked the beginning of the celebration for the 115th anniversary of the time-honored institution of higher learning, university officials said.

On the same afternoon, the Nobel laureate delivered a lecture on the topic of "Transaction Cost Economics：The natural Progression" to some 2,000 students, answering questions and taking photos with them.
