Further cooperation in education between universities in Southwest China’s Guizhou province and those in ASEAN counties will contribute to trade and investment between two regions, a provincial official said.
Liu Xiaokai, Vice-governor of Guizhou province, made the statement at the opening ceremony of a forum “The Fourth China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week” held in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, on Wednesday.
The forum enables practitioners from both sides to exchange ideas in multiple aspects, including folk and traditional culture, business and sports cultural activities.
"The ‘cooperation week’ established a sound foundation for educational communication between China and ASEAN,” said Hao Ping, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Education at the opening ceremony.
Chinese ambassador to ASEAN Tong Xiaoling and Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN Secretariat Misran Bin Karmain also attended the ceremony and made addresses.
The forum has held since 2008 and 135 international cooperation agreements have been reached between Chinese universities and overseas universities though it.
