The 2011 China Equestrian Festival will be held in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu, the capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, from Sept 16 to 19.

Sponsored by the State General Administration of Sports, the Chinese Equestrian Association, Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, Chengdu Municipal Sports Bureau and the Wenjiang district government, the festival will boast equestrian competitions, calligraphy and photography exhibitions and essay competition, according to Tian Rong, Party chief of the Wenjiang district.
