Visiting the official microblog of the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, one can find the following words saluting its volunteers.
"In the streets or the courtyards of the communities, a group of young volunteers brave the scorching sun working seven days a week to benefit people in the hi-tech zone," the microblog says.
Since August 1, the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone has recruited 40 volunteers in two groups to publicize the projects the zone would start to improve the people's livelihood.
The volunteers have worked for more than 4,000 hours in nearly 27 communities in the hi-tech zone ever since.
The volunteers will work till October 1, according to Wang Wei, an information officer with the zone.
