It's a big week for organizers of the 12th Western China International Fair (WCIF), as the 9 exhibition halls hosting the Fair open their doors in the Century City of Chengdu, the capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

52 countries and regions will be represented at the exhibition, which will run from the 18th to 22nd of October.

The WCIF, hosted jointly by governing bodies of China's western areas, is a comprehensive state-level fair that contributes to trade and investment. It's also a platform to boost cooperation between Western and Eastern China, as well as between China and foreign countries.

The exhibition area is 180,000 square meters in size, and includes 6 main halls and distributing halls.

"It’s enormous. So many kinds of commodities are being displayed here," a buyer from Shandong province in East China said.

"I am wandering to find the agricultural equipment. The clean halls impress me very much. It's the best one I have ever seen."

The WCIF, which began in 2000, is annually hosted in Chengdu. So far, it has been held 11times successfully.
