Two more farmers’cooperatives were set up recently in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu, Sichuan province, bringing the total number of cooperatives set up this year to four.

The new farm machinery and vegetable cooperatives, with more than 70 members, have planters, transplanter, tractors and other agricultural machines.

In the past, farmers toiled in the fields on the household basis and their workload was heavy.

With the establishment of the cooperatives, their workload will be greatly mitigated and income increased.
