Film on Wenchuan quake survival will be shot

A film depicting the survival of a man in the devastating Wenchuan earthquake will be shot in Anxian county, Sichuan province.

It is based on the true story of Peng Guohua, a resident of Jushui town in the county,according to the county publicity chief Zhao Kui.

 After the quake, Peng who was buried in a mine 30 meters beneath the earth survived by drinking urine and rainwater and eating toilet paper. He was rescued 172 hours later thanks to the unremitting efforts of his wife, relatives, and solldiers.

According to its producer Sun Yunfeng, the film's shooting may start next Feb and have its premiere on July 1.
