Young visitors are celebrating the Christmas Day at the Shanghai Happy Valley during its Happy Snow Festival.

SHANGHAI – A happy snow festival was held at Happy Valley at the city's Sheshan Songjiang district on Saturday to celebrate the Christmas Day.

More than 30 tons of artificial snow were spread on the Victoria shopping street at the theme park's entrance and other major scenic spots to create a chilly and snow-white environment for the Day, said Xu Fei from the Administration Department of shanghai OCT Co Ltd.

Santa Claus, Christmas Angel and snow princess square, together with colourful Christmas floats, added a festival atmosphere to the festival, giving a strong attraction to thousands of thousands of visitors, especially young guys.

"As the core project of OCT, Shanghai Happy Valley has become one of the city's major places for young people to spend the Christmas Day," said Xu, adding that the festival will run till January 2, 2012.
