China game industry conference held in Xi'an

The 2011 China Game Industry Annual Conference (CGIAC) was held on Monday in Xi'an. Sun Shoushan, deputy director of the Press and Publication Administration, and people in China's game industry attended the conference.

In the afternoon, awards were given for the top 10 games. Tan Qunzhao, Shi Hai and others won "China's top 10 influential figures in the game industry". Chen Guang, Ji Xuefeng and others won "China's 10 cutting-edge figures of game industry". Seventy game products were also commended, as well as 40 game companies.

CGIAC is one of the two largest activities in the field of China's game industry. The other is Chinajoy, which is geared mainly toward players. Its purpose is to "encourage the research and development of games, support the independent brand, promote fair competition, and improve the prosperity of national industry."

The conference will release the 2011 China Game Industry Report. Discussions and forums will also be held.
