Dalian official urges protection of coastline resources

Tang Jun, Party chief of Dalian, urged protection and proper utilization of coastline resources in the city, after a detailed investigation about coastline resource planning on Monday.
Dalian has a coastline of about 2,211 kilometers and more than 29,000 square kilometers of marine areas with abundant maritime resources under its jurisdiction.
The richness of coastline resources has always been the greatest advantage of Dalian. Protection of the precious coastline resources is essential in the construction and development of Dalian,Tang said.
Tang said some ongoing projects should be revamped or removed for the human-oriented idea of development and public welfare.
In addition, local government will implement more strict supervision and improve legislation to solidify resource protection and proper utilization, Tang said.
Located at the southernmost tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, facing the Yellow Sea to the east and the Bohai Sea to the west and south, Dalian boasts a superior geographic location and convenient transportation.
