Nasdaq-listed Spreatrum Communications Inc. (Spreatrum) has signed an agreement with the management of Chengdu Hi-tech Zone on establishing Spreatrum’s western China headquarters, RD center and technology support center.

Spreadtrum is a fabless semiconductor company that develops baseband and RF processor solutions for the wireless communications market.

Spreatrum said in an announcement that it will invest up to 200 million yuan in its projects in Chengdu which, according to chairman of Spreadtrum Leo Li, will be one of Spreatrum’s key global production bases.
