Haiyun Poets Society launched in Tanggu

May 6, 2012 saw the opening of the Tanggu Haiyun Poets Society in Tanggu Culture Center. Niu Guochen was elected as president and Ou Yonglin, general manager of Tianjin Port Culture and Media Co., Ltd, elected as the honorary president of the Society. More than 60 poets and writers from Tianjin and Tanggu came and attended the opening meeting. Famous Tianjin poets including Feng Jingyuan, Tang Shaozhong and Liu Gongye also showed up to express their congratulations on the opening of the Society. Bai Jin, former president of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, was also present. In addition to showing his congratulations, Bai also wrote the four Chinese characters of “Hai Yun Shi She” (Haiyun Poets Society) and donated them to the Society.

Currently, Haiyun Poets Society has a total of more than 40 members, of which six are from Tianjin Port Literature and Arts Association. As a branch of Tianjin Poets Society, Haiyun Poets Society will work actively to carry on various culture activities like the writer and poet gatherings and collecting ideas from the folk, and compile the excellent works of the members to publish. Haiyun Poets Society serves as a platform for poets from Tanggu and Binhai New Area as well as those from Tianjin Municipality to learn from each other and exchange. Besides, it also provides backup support to the culture integration and development of Tianjin Port Federation of Literature and Arts and Tianjin Port Culture and Media Co., Ltd.
