Tianjin Port Group Co Ltd has recently been awarded the honorary title of “National Advanced Afforest Collective”, according to the Tianjin Port Environment Sanitation Center on May 15, 2012.

The title awards the remarkable contributions the company has made in the area of forestation in recent years and was jointly issued by the National Forestation Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Forestry of People’s Republic of China,

Tianjin Port Group is the only port enterprise that has won the honor.

For years, Tianjin Port Group has been implementing the concept of scientific development and insisting on a sustainable development strategy by conscientiously carrying out relevant environmental protection and land forestation laws and regulations, including a voluntary tree-planting initiative.

In the last decade alone, the company’s forestation scale has reached 4.4 million square meters, involving a total investment of 1.16 billion yuan. This has brought about a dramatic change in the landscape of the port and has laid down a good foundation in realizing the goal of building a world class green port.
