The Digital Television Industry Alliance (DTIA) based in the Zhongguancun Science Park recently negotiated with a Burundian delegation regarding plans to jointly operate the Burundi's digital terrestrial television (DTT) system by adopting China's digital terrestrial multimedia broadcast (DTMB) TV standard. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on July 23.
Cooperation with the African country will entail government approvals for commercial DTT operations, the formation and operation lof joint ventures, license releases, tax exemptions and network construction.
The DTIA will begin to install the DTMB network, in line with the MOC, in Burundi by the end of this year.
