The Shanghai International Financial Center is close to South Yanggao Road and sits opposite the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and Shanghai Oriental Art Center Theater. It covers about 55,000 square meters of land and 517,000 square meters of overall construction. It is 200 meters high and will be completed in 2016.

The project consists of three subprojects, including the construction projects of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, China Financial Futures Exchange, and China Securities Depository and Clearing Co Ltd. These three enterprises jointly established a company to develop and manage the construction.

Three skyscrapers reaching 200 meters, 180 meters and 160 meters will be erected. The center will further be divided into four functional zones. Besides the three zones for the companies mentioned above, there will be a public zone for a museum, exhibition hall and media center.
