The fourth Chengdu Rural Tourism Festival will kick off on March 22. The opening ceremony will take place in Floraland, a wonderland that combines a Disneyland-style theme park with local flavor.

The festival will last for a whole year, and a series of festival activities will be held in 14 districts throughout Chengdu.

As a main organizer, Wenjiang district will launch seven key events during March and April, including art photography exhibitions, one-day hike trips, and bike rides along Wenjiang Greenway.

Wenjiang district has been identified as a national rural tourism demonstration pilot and eco-pilot zone thanks to its consistent balance of city development and eco-protection.

"Wenjiang is really a good place unlike other Chinese cities, most of which sacrifice their ecological environment for modern development. The district has devoted major efforts to eco-protection and to sustainable development," said Lu Linglong, a famous Chinese photographer.
