Zeng Xiaodong, international business director of the administrative committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, met Michel Kempeneers, Asia-Pacific department manager of Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX), Belgium, on May 15 in Beijing.

After the park introduced its latest developments, the Belgium delegation elaborated on Wallonia and the functions of the Asia-Pacific department. The two sides then discussed issues such as establishing a long-term exchange platform and reinforcing cooperation between enterprises.

The Wallonia government now offers preferential policies for Chinese companies located in the region, including discounted office rent for three to six months as well as free consulting services on laws, taxation and recruitment.

Wallonia covers an area of 16,844 square kilometers in south Belgium. It has a favorable location and convenient transportation with advantages in various industries, including aerospace, mechanical engineering and high-tech materials, bioscience and biomedicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, and logistics.
