The Guiyang retired soldier skills training activity started on May 30. More than 500 soldiers took part in the training for free, offering various courses on driving, electrician skills, computing and cooking.
"Guiyang plans to invest 3.95 million yuan ($643,400) in skills training and vocational education for retired soldiers," said Chen Qin, the head of the Guiyang Retired Soldier Employment Promotion Center.
