Since 1896, when it was established, the university has made tremendous contributions to China’s engineering technology research and personnel training through project management and engineering education.
Huang noted that Xi'an Jiaotong University designed and manufactured China's first radio switchboards and China's first car.
According to Huang, the school of management is one of the first schools of its kind in China and has helped maintain the country's top two spot in national discipline rankings in the past decade.
Huang said that China's first PhD management project was a collaboration by Xi'an Jiaotong University's school of management and Canada. The project's central doctoral training class has trained a number of outstanding leaders.
