The six Northeast Asian countries have strong complements, which serves as a natural condition for them to enlarge economic and trade cooperation, Liu Yazheng, a famous expert in Northeast Asia research and vice-head of the Jilin Provincial Academy of Social Science, said during an interview. Through such an important platform as the China-Northeast Asia Expo, the peaceful and stable development in Northeast Asia can be achieved through economic communication among these countries, Liu added.

One of the goals of the expo is to promote the construction of the Northeast Asia Free Trade Zone, which is expected to be firstly realized with the initiation of the Sino-Korea Free Trade Agreement Negotiation. Liu said that the Sino-Korea Free Trade Agreement, once succeeding, will enjoy a bright future, especially bringing about new opportunities for the Northeast Asia Expo.

The countries in Northeast Asia have different economic development models. The expo will provide more opportunities for economic and trade communication among them.

Liu indicated that the expo seeks an aggregation effect, attracting the attention of the whole world. It needs all expo staff to fully exert their functions to bring the world the best, most exquisite exposition.
