Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone makes list of top Jiangsu development zones

Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone was included on a list of the top 10 development zones in Jiangsu province, according to a 2012 scientific development evaluation report of Jiangsu development zones. A total of 131 zones participated in the evaluation.

It is the second honor the zone has received after it was honored as an advanced development zone in Jiangsu province last year.

Regional competition has become fierce in recent years. Enterprises in Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone continue to adapt to develop. A number of promising projects have also received support from the government.

The free trade zone plans to receive business income of more than 1 trillion yuan ($163.5 billion) in 3-5 years and tax income of more than 60 billion yuan.

The Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province evaluated the scientific development of the 131 development zones in the province. As the most authoritative evaluation of its kind in the province, seven factors, including economic strength, opening-up, innovation, environmental protection, intensive development, social contribution and management level, were taken into consideration.
