The China Petroleum and Chemical International Conference is scheduled to convene from September 25 to 27 in Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi province.
Co-organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and the Shaanxi provincial government, the conference will gather global petrochemical leaders to discuss the new changes of global petrochemical market, to explore new ideas for future industrial development at home and abroad.
Wang Dong, deputy director of Shaanxi Provincial Energy Bureau, said that Shaanxi is a major petroleum and chemical production base in China and the overseas participants to the conference can get better understanding of China’s petroleum and chemical industry through development of such field in Shaanxi.
The province is seeking cooperative opportunities with foreign firms in this field, Wang said.
Zhao Jungui, vice president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that China’s petroleum and chemical industry development will enter a new phase in the next few years.
In face of changes in the international market and overcapacity in the domestic sector, the industry needs to search for new ideas and international cooperative opportunities for further development, he said.
