Documentary on Xi'an and Rome to lens in 2014

A panorama documentary Dialogue between Xi'an and Rome will tell the history of cultural exchanges between ancient China and Italy. It will be shot by Xi'an Qujiang Film and TV Company, Radio Audizioni Italiane (RAI, Italian Broadcasting Corporation), and Shaanxi Radio and TV Station.

The film, which will be shot in 2014 and released in 2015, panoramically records and reproduces the civilization and splendid culture along the ancient Silk Road, built more than 2,000 years ago to link China and Europe. The Silk Road began in Xi'an, known in ancient times as Chang'an. The city served as the capital of China's Western Han Dynasty (202 BC – 9 AD).

According to Guan Zhaoyi, general manager of Xi'an Qujiang Film and TV Company, the documentary crews will start in both Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, and Rome, capital of Italy, capturing the unique style and splendid civilization along the Silk Road.

After the film is completed, the documentary will be broadcast simultaneously to the world by Shaanxi Satellite TV and RAI.
