Guizhou offers allowances for teachers

The China Education Development Foundation will bring the lottery public welfare fund into force in Guizhou. More than 3,800 teachers from families facing financial difficulties will get 10,000 yuan ($1,632.44) in allowances each, reported the Guizhou Education Department.

On-the-job teachers, retired teachers, elementary school teachers, junior high school teachers, special education school teachers and secondary vocational school teachers with more than one year work experience are eligible to apply.

All eligible teachers can apply for allowances through their school. The application must include evidentiary material to explain their degree of financial difficulty.
