Organizers said that the Xi’an Southern China City Spring Festival Carnival will be held at the Southern China City No 2 trade square in the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park (ITL) from Dec 21 to Jan 3, 2014, itl.gov.cn reported.
About one million visitors will take part in the carnival, which is expected to cover an area of 100,000 square meters, and will have 1,129 exhibition booths of 743 enterprises.
The organizers also said at a recent press conference that a total of 11 kinds of products, including home decor products, personal electronic devices, cosmetics and personal care products, will be displayed at the 14-day carnival.
The organizers have also planned nine separate exhibition areas, involving products from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, discounted famous brands, as well as leather, fur, green food products and much more.
In addition to the large numbers of high-quality products at relatively low prices, visitors can also enjoy activities such as folk custom performances and Han cultural shows, and also take part in a lottery draw.
The carnival, with the theme “Experience special culture along the Silk Road economic belt” is organized by the Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, China Chamber of International Commerce, Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Commerce and other organizations.
Qiang Xiaoan, director of the ITL management committee, said that the event aims to promote economic cooperation and exchanges between countries along the Silk Road, creating a “golden corridor” for the Silk Road economic belt, and also aims to push forward the development of Xi’an so as to transform it into an international metropolis.
