A blue book on the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was released by the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) and China Social Sciences Academic Press in Beijing on March 25.

At the conference where the book was released, experts discussed several issues regarding the cooperation, including the relocation of Beijing and Tianjin’s industries to Hebei province, and the urbanization of the province.

CUEB took the lead in this research project. Experts from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei participated in the project, including those from China Renmin University, Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, Hebei University of Technology and Hebei University of Economics and Business.

The project has released one blue book annually and has different themes each year, aiming to provide both a comprehensive analysis of the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area and a foresight into its future. The series provides valuable references as well as guidebooks for anyone interested in the topic – especially for those from government organizations.

According to Wang Jiaqiong, the president of CUEB, the university has set up a research center on economic and social development of megacities in recent years, consisting of research teams on various issues, including those on the capital region’s internationalization and ecological preservation.

"CUEB is willing to establish a research and communication platform for the sustainable development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area. We want to coordinate with people from all walks of life and strive for the future development of this area together," said Wang Jiaqiong at the conference.
