The fourth ICIF was held in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on May 16, 2008.

Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary -general of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and head of the CPC Publicity Department; Ou Yangjian, vice-minister of the CPC Publicity Department; Cai Wu, minister of the Ministry of Culture; Yi Xiaozhun, vice-minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Wang Lili, Party member of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television; Sun Shoushan, deputy director of the General Administration of Press and Publication; Wang Yang, secretary-general of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee; Huang Huahua, governor of the Guangdong provincial government; Liu Yupu, secretary-general of the Shenzhen municipal Party committee, attended the opening ceremony.

The fourth ICIF covered an exhibition area of 105,000 square meters and its eight professional exhibition halls attracted 1,687 governmental delegations, institutions and enterprises to participate in the fair.

Altogether 12,000 foreign visitors from 72 countries and regions attended the fourth ICIF. The total turnover reached 70.23 billion yuan ($11.24 billion). Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair Co, the organizer of the ICIF, was awarded the Innovation Prize of Chinese Cultural Industries by the Ministry of Culture; Ministry of Commerce; State Administration of Radio, Film and Television; and General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China.
