The ninth ICIF opened in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on May 17, 2013.
Liu Qibao, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary-general of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and minister of the CPC Publicity Department; Cai Mingzhao and Sun Zhijun, vice-ministers of the CPC Publicity Department; Xiang Zhaolun, vice-minister of the Ministry of Culture; Zhong Shan, vice-minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Qiu Hong, assistant minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Cai Fuchao, head of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television; Nie Chenxi and Yan Xiaohong, deputy directors of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television; Xu Hubin, secretary-general of the CCPIT; Dong Songgen, vice-president of the CCPIT; Hu Chunhua, secretary-general of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee; Zhu Xiaodan, governor of Guangdong; Wang Rong, secretary-general of the Shenzhen municipal Party committee; and Xu Qin, mayor of Shenzhen, attended the opening ceremony.
The ninth ICIF set up 43 sub-venues. Exhibitors of the main exhibition halls totaled 2,118. Governmental delegations from all provinces and regions of China were present for the ICIF.
A total of 16,347 overseas buyers from 93 countries and regions were invited to attend the ICIF. The total turnover reached 166.5 billion yuan ($26.66 billion), among which the auction turnover reached up to 2.68 billion yuan, accounting for 1.6 percent of the total. The trading patterns were more diversified than in the past.
