Hainan officials investigated for suspected bribery

Two senior officials from the transport authorities in Hainan province have been detained on suspicion of corruption, according to the provincial procuratorate.

Duan Shourong, vice-chief of the Hainan Provincial Road Administration, is being investigated by prosecutors on allegations of taking bribes, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday.

Duan, 46, has been in the post since September 2011, according to a resume posted on the official website of the administration.

He Jushuang, vice-chief of the Qionghai bureau of the Hainan Provincial Road Project Quality Supervision Administration, is also under investigation after bribery allegations, the report said.
