CIFIT promotional event returns to Hainan

The 18th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) held a special promotional event in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, on May 21.

Hainan was the Guest Province of Honor at CIFIT last year.

The event invited investors to expand their scope beyond the active Guest Province of Honor, which is Xinjiang this year, and explore opportunities in previous CIFIT-honored guest cities.

The promotional event was co-organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the organizing committee of 18th CIFIT and the Hainan Department of Commerce.

Representatives from more than 100 enterprises in petrochemical engineering, high-technology, health insurance and other fields participated in the event and discussed investment matters with officials from Hainan’s industrial development zones.

Wang Xu, deputy director of MOC’s Investment Promotion Department, gave a detailed introduction of the promotional event. Shen Shunwen, deputy director of the Fair Affairs department of CIFIT’s organizing committee, gave a briefing of new highlights and preparations for the 18th CIFIT. Li Longsheng, deputy director of the Hainan Department of Commerce, talked about the overall investment environment in the province.

Representatives from companies, such as Hewlett Packard, Roche Group and Fujian Microwater, shared their successful experiences, and many economic development zones and pilot zones from Hainan talked about their investment prospects.

Investors showed some interest in Hainan after spending the day touring and inspecting many places in the province. Fujian Huisheng Industrial Co Ltd said the favorable policies at Chengmai Ecological Software Park were worth looking into.

The Hainan Department of Commerce and the economic zones pay plenty of attention to CIFIT as an investment platform, and appreciated CIFIT’s value-added services in bringing investors back to the province, which was honored as the guest province last year.

CIFIT is the largest global investment event approved by the Union of international Fairs, and is the only exhibition hosted by MOC.

To expand its influence, the organizing committee of CIFIT started featuring a Guest Province of Honor every year since 2010.

The 18th CIFIT will provide a number of special services for promoting the honored guest province, as it will hold many exhibitions, meetings, and forums to bring more investors.
