Number of procurement groups at 11th China-ASEAN Expo increases

According to the secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo, the number of procurement teams attending the 11th China-ASEAN Expo has increased, bringing more commercial opportunities for exhibitors and promoting the expo to improve its commercial effect.

The 11th China-ASEAN Expo is open to all countries in the world, widely inviting global purchasers and successfully attracting purchasers of all countries. This year, the secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo increased invitations to purchasers.

In addition to organizing purchasers of all countries together with ASEAN co-organizers and partners, the expo also adequately expanded new channels, invited purchasing groups of RCEP countries like Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan.

They invited 50 purchasers settled in Guangzhou mainly from RCEP countries through market channels and hosted special purchasing matchmaking symposiums. Purchasers importing rice, palm oil, rubber, coffee and packaged foods will further increase.

At present, over 80 domestic and international purchasing groups have registered in the 11th expo, a 15 percent increase compared with last year. About 70 purchasers from the ASEAN and other regions, such as Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia and South Korea, have decided to attend the expo. Purchasers come from such sectors as food raw materials, engineering machinery, home building materials and food package machinery.

In addition to trade enterprises, the organization work effect of purchasers in other fields has been continuously promoted. Enterprises organized by advanced technology projects have actively taken part in the expo. A total of 155 science & technology departments, institutions and enterprises have signed up to participate so far, including 73 institutions from the ASEAN and 82 domestic institutions. Institutions such as the Ministry of Science and Technology (Thailand), Energy Ministry (Thailand), Ministry of Industry and Handicraft of Cambodia, Energy Committee of Myanmar, Application Innovation Bureau of Vietnam, Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Indonesia and Biomass Industry Federation of Malaysia have clearly expressed they will attend the expo.

The 11th expo will also hold a series of activities to provide more platforms and opportunities for face-to-face communication & negotiation between purchasers and exhibitors, thus improving trade efficiency of commodities. The activities include trade matchmaking symposiums of the China-ASEAN Expo, an exhibitors pulpit and a signing ceremony of the 11th China - ASEAN Expo. Among them, special activities are featured by more abundant and detailed industry categories, and provide more dedicated matchmaking services for countries and regions.

Special trade matchmaking symposiums on the building materials, food packaging machinery, electricity and engineering machinery industries will be held this year. Special matchmaking symposiums on the rice and palm oil industry will be added. Symposiums dedicated to merchants outside the area will be held continuously.

The Trade Development Council of the Ministry of Commerce will host the "Commercial Officials’ Talk on Cooperation 'New Opportunities for Middle and Small-Sized Enterprises When Facing Markets of RCEP Countries'." Commerce officials of embassies of relevant countries in China will give an explanation on their domestic trade and investment policy, market conditions and advantaged industry situation to help domestic middle and small-sized enterprises exploit markets of relevant RCEP countries.
