Wuxi New District holds a speech contest on food safety

"Co-build an honest family & Co-protect food safety”, a speech contest organized by the Food Safety Office of Wuxi New District, was held on Sept 5.

The contest attracted many people from all walks of life, whose jobs are related to food safety. They told the story from four aspects, namely, supervisor, coordinator, practitioners and consumers. Twenty-one contestants were selected for the final.

Li Weimin, member of Party Working Committee and deputy-director of the Management Committee of Wuxi New District, attended the activity and delivered a speech. Qin Xiangyang, chief of food safety and the health supervision department of Wuxi Food Safety Office, and related officials of the Food Safety Office of Wuxi New District as well as major departments also attended the contest.

Each contestant gave full play to their advantages so that the whole contest was full of excitement. After three hours of fierce competition, Wang Jieyu, from the Third Community of Xin’an Garden, gained the Grand Prize with a score of 96.7. Twenty other contestants gained the first, second and third prizes and the memorial prize respectively.

With this speech contest, Wuxi New District will further intensify the construction of its social integrity system, enhance the sense of the integrity of management of its food industry and strengthen the punishment for the sale of counterfeit and shoddy products and dishonest behavior.
