CAEXPO follows up on signed project

According to the investment promotion department of the organizing committee of the CAEXPO and CABIS, Guilin Optical Communication Industrial Park, with a total investment of about 2.8 billion yuan ($454.95 million),is now advancing smoothly.

At present, preparatory work, including a feasibility report of the project, energy-conservation registration, planning examination and approval, and preliminary environmental evaluation, have all been completed. The project is listed as one of the "Major Projects Promoted by Guangxi in 2014." The investment framework agreement has been signed; the ground-breaking ceremony has been held; and the construction of roads in the park has been completed.

The industrial park, a high-tech project signed between China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and the Guilin High-tech Zone during the 10th CAEXPO, when put into production, will be able to produce 20,000 sets of optical communication equipment and 200,000 photoelectric devices annually, offering more than 5,000 jobs and realizing an annual revenue of 8 billion yuan.

According to the project leader, once completed, the industrial park will be the leading R&D center on core technology of optical communication in the country and the top-ranking technology and industrialization base of photo-electron and optical communication in the economic circle of South and Southwest China. It will be a strong engine to drive the development of the electronic information industry in Guilin.
