11th CAEXPO Roundtable Meeting opens

Hosted by the Investment Promotion Agency of the MOFCOM, the 11th CAEXPO Roundtable Meeting on Investment Cooperation took place on the morning of September 17.

The roundtable meeting, taking “Prompting Cross-Border Cooperation, Jointly Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road” as its theme, welcomed investment promotion departments of China and the 10 ASEAN member states, as well as representatives of the ASEAN secretariat.

In the meeting, all parties discussed specific measures on how to prompt the construction and development of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road through cooperating in cross-border economy, strengthening maritime connection and communication, jointly building the China-ASEAN Project Information Base and other measures. The meeting initially identified "Prompting Port and Logistics Cooperation" as the theme of the next China-ASEAN Expo.

Yang Yihang, deputy director general of the Investment Promotion Agency of the MOFCOM and senior official of the ASEAN secretariat; Huang Yuan, vice-secretary general of the China-ASEAN Expo secretariat; and representatives of the investment promotion departments of the 10 ASEAN member states attended the roundtable meeting and were invited to address the meeting.

The roundtable meeting has had a profound significance on improving the long-term mechanism of two-way investment and promotion, strengthening the cooperation of all kinds of key industrial fields, boosting maritime connection and communication construction of the China-ASEAN, jointly building the China-ASEAN Project Information Base, enlarging two-way investment scale, and prompting pragmatic results for China-ASEAN investment and cooperation.
