A temple in the county of Pingyao, Shanxi province held a film gathering on Chinese tea culture, on Sept 25, during the Pingyao Micro Film Festival, with tea associations from across the country taking part.

This was also an occasion for a film contest with a tea culture theme organized by the film festival and Shanxi Tea Association that attracted a large number of tea associations and tea enterprises. The event, running from July through Sept, brought in 26 micro films from Shanxi, Fujian, and Zhejiang provinces, the city of Shanghai, and other regions.

Taking first place was a micro film about kung fu tea art, from the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, as judged by a group of tea arts specialists and film experts, which demonstrated the tea making process, with the award winners sharing their ideas on film making and tea culture afterwards.

In addition, participants discussed the topic of how to carry Chinese tea culture forward and promote it through contemporary visual communications.
