Shanghai International Studies University held its regular social gathering for scholarship students at its Confucius Institute on Nov 2, taking them to enjoy a modern ballet performance, Le Petit Prince, at the Shanghai Cultural Square.

Foreign students were joined by some teachers and locals during their trip to the square. The show was put on by the Mannheim National Theatre from Germany, which has won numerous awards for their prominence and exquisite performances.

The opening sand painting projection impressed the entire audience, who were then “tamed” by a powerful dance and elaborate manifestation of starry nights through choreography. The students had a good time talking to and appreciating the figures and the performance.
