Preparations well done to ensure COEE’s success

Zhanjiang’s Party Secretary Liu Xiaohua, Mayor Wang Zhongbing and Zhanjiang Municipal Political Consultative Conference chairman Deng Biquan check the preparatory work of the 2014 COEE at the Olympic Center on Dec 1.

Senior officials in the city of Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, visited the newly built Olympic Center on Dec 1 to ensure that the preparations were well done for the upcoming 2014 China Ocean Economy Expo (2014 COEE).

Zhanjiang’s Party Secretary Liu Xiaohua, Mayor Wang Zhongbing and Zhanjiang Municipal Political Consultative Conference chairman Deng Biquan inspected different pavilions in the center, where preparatory work had basically come to an end prior to the five-day expo kicking off on Dec 3.

The International Pavilion highlights more than 10 coastal countries such as Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea and Russia. The Chinese Pavilion’s life-sized replica of China’s manned submersible Jiaolong is ready to wow visitors. At the Themed Pavilion, visitors can find the latest achievements and products from such Fortune 500 companies as Baosteel and Sinopec. Local fishery companies’ marine products are on display at the Fishing Pavilion and the Jian-10 fighter jet and an amphibious tank are well arranged in the Military Pavilion.

The senior officials also braved the rain to check outdoor areas dedicated to container-themed leisure activities as well as ships and boats. Also, work is coming to an end about support facilities including roads, green belts, lights and signage.
