An e-commerce alliance for wholesale markets was established in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province on Friday, according to an industrial company.

The alliance, involving six industrial parties, aims to help transfer and upgrade business of professional wholesale markets by introducing an e-commerce service, said Li Hua, chief executive officer of the Zhenhai Science and Technology Co.

Guangzhou currently has about 1,000 wholesale markets, with businesses ranging from garments, electronic products, toys, seafoods and stationery to textiles.

Since the online platform was launched in August, about 80 percent of Guangzhou-based wholesale markets have joined the online platform to promote business, according to Li.
