As northern China is hit by a cold spell, the renowned Mount Wutai Buddhist area in Shanxi province has its own distinct beauty, completely different from lively summer, with the deep blue sky, white snow, red walls, grey tiles, evergreen trees, sounds of nature, and Buddhist music coming together to take visitors back in time.

The White Tower at the center of the mountain looks even grander and holier against the blue sky and surrounded by temples. As the north wind blows the bells at the top of the temples, bits of music spread across the mountains. Some say that it is only winter that can reveal the true Buddhist paradise of Mount Wutai.

Winter tours here give an extraordinarily refined feel and tired souls can be refreshed and released from the cares of the busy city. So, let's walk around Wutai and experience this Buddhist wonderland in winter.
