Two foreign football players to join Jiangsu Shuntian Club

Croatian international player Jorge Sammir, and Seoul FC forward Sergio Escudero to join Jiangsu Shuntian Football Club.

Samir, a football player of Croatia’s national team who is now playing for La Liga’s Getafe team, would arrive in Shanghai by flight on the evening of Feb 26 and then go directly to Nanjing, according to a relevant person from Jiangsu Shuntian Football Club (hereinafter referred to as Shuntian) on Feb 26. Shuntian will officially release the player transfer news on Feb 27.

South Korea’s FC Seoul Club officially declared on the evening of Feb 24 that its foreign player Escudero will be transferred to Shuntian. Seoul Club said that after its contact with Shuntian and Escudero’s application, Seoul Club decided to agree the transfer.

27-year-old Escudero of 1.72 meters is a forward. He has both Spanish and Argentine nationalities, and obtained his Japanese citizenship in 2007. Before being transferred to Seoul Club, he played for Japan Football League.

Escudero joined Seoul Club in 2012 and participated in 86 K-League matches with the results of 14 goals and 14 assists for the goal. Shuntian officially declared on the afternoon of Feb 24 that Escudero formally joined Shuntian with a contract period of two years. In the new season, he will play for Shuntian in China Super League matches as a foreign player from Asia.

Samir, born in Brazil, was once selected into Brazil’s national teams for players with ages below 17 and 18 respectively. He immigrated to Croatia at age of 19 and then became a Croatian citizen. He was selected as a player by Croatia’s national team for the Brazil World Cup in 2014.

In addition, the 2015 season tickets of Shuntian are scheduled to be available from Feb 28. The price for one set of season tickets is unchanged at 500 yuan ($81), according to sources.
