Face-recognition is becoming reality

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2015-03-18 11:11

Bank of Jiangsu and some other institutions in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, are adopting the latest face-recognition technology, which was recently brought under the spotlight by Alibaba's Jack Ma at top IT business fair CeBIT 2015 in Hannover, Germany.

The bank has reportedly finished preparatory work and will adopt face-recognition in areas such as remote account opening and remote use of ATMs. The technology will be combined with citizen identity information provided by the Ministry of Public Security and does keep constant updates to avoid risks.

Meanwhile, Nanjing's driving schools are also eyeing this technology to apply it in the driving learning process to replace the clocking-in-and-out system.
