When April is praised as the most tender of spring months by poetics, Jiangsu has abundant sheens and splendor, making it worthwhile to visit its numerous water towns.

You can row a boat in the Qin Huai River to capture a glimpse of the cherry and peach blossoms alongside, under weeping willows, and imagine legends and fairytales that may have taken place in Jiangsu's beautiful landscapes. Or, you may have a cruise tour around the mid-lake island at Xuanwu Lake Park, where cherry flowers are blooming out, painting the water into pink.

Or else, take a rafting at Yangzhou’s Slim West Lake, under the clear moon and starlight, and recall the past amour of 24 Bridges and their stories. Bouquets of viburnum are yet to come; but, you can opt in for the early and quiet scenery.

Taohuajian scenic spot in Lianyungang also has vast lakes for tourists to have a visual feast from the boat. Ancient towns in Suzhou like Zhouzhuang and Tongli are places to go for a waterside pillow dream.
