May 18: Nanjing Museum
Nanjing Museum is the first large national comprehensive museum in China and does have two exhibition halls, both with splendid palatial architecture reflecting the Liao Dynasty architectural style. It has over 400,000 collections in wide-ranging varieties from Paleolithic period to the contemporary era, including stoneware, earthenware, jadeware, bronzeware, chinaware, painting and calligraphy, embroidery, bamboo carving, folklore and contemporary art, and 1,062 cultural relics of high importance.
Location: No 4 Chaotian Temple, Jianye Rd, Qinhuai district, Nanjing.
Opening hours: 9am—6pm.
