With a peach planting history dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the Yangshan town in Wuxi is known as the 'hometown of peaches' in China.

According to Liang Hanmo, a South Korean student from Yangzhou University majoring in cooking, the unique flavor of the peach dish served for lunch in Yangshan inspired him for his cooking practice.

"The sweetness, the salty taste and the juicy flesh are well balanced to make the dish a good mixture of different flavors. I'll try it out myself!" said Liang.

Participants also enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on boat watching landscapes along the river running through the Ancient Town of Dangkou, as well as walking around the historic town to explore local culture.

Aiming to establish a platform for foreign cultural exchanges and promoting the province, "Foreigner's view of Jiangsu" is held every year since 2012 to help foreigners get to know more about the culture, natural beauty and socio-economic development of different parts of Jiangsu through cultural trips.

"Wuxi has beautiful lakes, ancient towns, mountains, and kind people. I do hope our foreign friends have a sweet trip and even fall in love with the people of Wuxi", said Si Jingquan, the director of the Jiangsu provincial government's information office, during his speech at the launch ceremony of Foreigners' View of Jiangsu in Wuxi.
