Invest Hong Kong and the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Hong Kong on June 25 to boost bilateral investment and exchange.
According to the MOU, Hong Kong and Thailand will exchange information on investment environments and opportunities to promote mutual investment. Both sides will share experience on absorbing foreign investment, and encourage local companies to expand business outside.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pridiyathorn Devakula said in Hong Kong that Thailand has recovered from turmoil. Its GDP rebounded from negative growth in the first quarter last year to an increase of 3 percent in the first quarter this year.
The Thai government has also put forward a series of measures to attract foreign investment. The primary task for the government is to reestablish peace and confidence, Pridiyathorn added.
